Lonnie H. Moore, son of James A. Moore and Lola Ipock Moore, was born on July 14, 1913, in Douglas County, and passed away on March 6, 2005, in Springfield, at the age of 91 years.
Lonnie was a lifelong resident of the Girdner community. He was a farmer and a bus driver. On Dec. 14, 1944, Lonnie and Wanda Brooke were united in marriage in Mtn. Home, Ark., and to this union three children were born. Lonnie was a member of the First Congressional Methodist Church at Girdner.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
His survivors include his wife, Wanda, of Ava; three children and their spouses, Gary and Bevy Moore, Wilda and Leon Potter, and Kyle and Carol Moore, all of Ava; ten grandchildren; one step-grandchild; eight great-grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren; one step great great-grandchild; special niece, Thelma Jones, and sister-in-law, Betty Moore; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held Tuesday, March 8, 10 a.m., at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with Rev. Dwight Wilson and Rev. Tom Johnson officiating. Interment was in the Girdner Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Gideons, Girdner Cemetery or Alzheimers Assoc.
