Freeda H. Workman, daughter of Thomas L. Moore and Cora Applegate Moore, was born on May 7, 1918, in Christian County, Mo., and entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on March 2, 2005, in Springfield, at the age of 86 years.
On Jan. 31, 1940, Freeda and Jerry Workman were united in marriage in Christian County. They moved to Yakima, Wash., in 1947, returning to Missouri in 1977.
Freeda was the family historian. She was a special lady with a remarkable memory who created beautiful quilts and afghans.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry, in 2003; two grandchildren, James Workman and Kellie Workman; and one brother, Vernie Moore.
Her survivors include her four sons, Morris Workman, Grand Junction, Colo., Stanley Workman, Seymour, Will Workman, Greensboro, North Carolina, and Marlin Workman, Yakima, Wash.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Steve Moore, St. Paul, Minn., and Winson Moore, Yakima, Wash.; one sister, Leora Gageby, Old Hickory, Tenn.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, March 9, 10 a.m., at the Dogwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Lester “Jody” Hall officiating. Services were under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
