Shannen Ray Dobbs, son of Ray and Margie (Potter) Dobbs, was born Dec. 24, 1977, in Davenport, Iowa, and departed this life Feb. 22, 2005, at the age of 27.
Shannen was a lifelong resident of Ava. He was employed as a carpenter in home construction. On June 4, 1999, Shannen and Susanne Emrick were united in marriage in Ava. Shannen was saved at his maternal grandparents’ house at a young age. He enjoyed riding ATVs, hunting and fishing, and listening to music.
Shannen was preceded in death by one son, Tyler Ray Dobbs.
Shannen is survived by his wife, Susanne, Ava; two children, Hayle and Katelyn; his parents, Ray and Margie Dobbs; one brother, Preston Dobbs and his wife, Cristi; one sister, Amanda Dobbs; one nephew, Chance; one niece, Laken Dobbs, all of Ava; two special aunts, Linda Scott and Pearl McFarlin; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Tom Johnson officiating. Interment was in Ava Cemetery.
