James Doyne Parrish, 82

James Doyne Parrish, son of Marlie M. Parrish and Millie Frances Phillips Parrish, was born on Nov. 27, 1922, in Pollard, Ark., and passed away on Feb. 13, 2005, in Ava, at the age of 82 years.

James was a resident of Ava since 1963, moving from St. Louis. He was a repairman for Rawlings Sporting Goods Co. for 30 years. He also had worked as a school teacher in Arkansas. On July 3, 1955, James and Evelyn Pauline Alderson were united in marriage in McDougal, Ark., and to this union two children were born. James loved to fish and hunt. He adored his family and grandson, Bradley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Merle Parrish; one sister, Georgie Grissom; his wife, Evelyn Pauline in 1989; and one grandson, Joseph Lane Walker.

His survivors include, one daughter and her husband, Sharon Kay and Mark Wolfe; one son, Ritchie Lynn Parish, all of Ava; one grandson, Bradley Lane Walker, Ava; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside service is Friday, Feb. 18, 2 p.m., at the Ava Cemetery, with the Rev. Oren Alcorn officiating. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
