Carroll Max Morrison, 65

Carroll Max Morrison, 65, Ava, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005. He was born June 22, 1939, at Highlonesome, Mo., the son of William “Bill” and Matle (Nelson) Morrison.

On Nov. 7, 1948, Max was baptized and joined the Missionary Baptist Church. On July 29, 1960, he was united in marriage to Doris Hinton at Sparta. This union was blessed with the birth of an only daughter, Patricia.

Max was a truck driver but especially enjoyed his farm life and his registered limousin cattle. He was a supportive fan of his grandsons and cherished their “togetherness” every day after school. He also spent his leisure time fishing, hunting, and being a good neighbor. His winning personality made him a friend to all the lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Paul Morrison.

Max is survived by his loving wife, Doris; his caring daughter, Trish Hall, and husband Gary; two special grandsons, Clint and Colton Hall, all of Ava; three sisters, Luetta Willis, Springfield, Ortha Lawrence, Ava, and Huba Rozell of Chadwick; two brothers, Dillon Morrison, and wife Carol, of Springfield, and George Morrison, and wife Janie, of Oldfield; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many caring friends.

Funeral services for Max were held Friday, Feb. 11, at 10 a.m., in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ava, with Rev. Vernon Fuller officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
