Martha Susan “Susie” Vaughn, daughter of James A. Ingram and Pearl Martin Ingram, was born on Sept. 24, 1915, in Hilo, Mo., in Douglas County, and passed away on Feb. 5, 2005, in West Plains, at the age of 89.
Susie lived most of her life in the Ava community. She was a Christian and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers.
Her survivors include two sons, James Stewart and wife, Brenda, Ava, and Tom Loftis Jr. and wife, Sheila, of the state of Utah; one daughter, Rebecca Robertson and husband, Thomas G., of Theodosia; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Pauline Smith, Broken Arrow, Okla.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Robert Roberts officiating. Interment was in Ava Cemetery.
