Noah “Obed” Clayton was born April 9, 1939, in Wasola, Mo., the son of Clifford Ralph Clayton and Elva Earnasteen (Fry) Clayton, and passed away Jan. 21, 2005, at the age of 65.
Noah was a resident of the Squires community for most of his life. He served his country with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was in the Navy for 12 years. He was employed with the Kansas City Stockyards for several years. He enjoyed hunting, target shooting and visiting with friends and family. Noah was a member of the Oak Grove General Baptist Church.
Noah was preceded in death by his father, Clifford R. Clayton.
His survivors include his mother, Elva Clayton, and one brother, Louin Ray Clayton and wife, Valerie, all of Squires; one niece; four nephews; many cousins and a host of friends.
Services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 24, in the Oak Grove General Baptist Church, Wasola, with the Rev. Robert Roberts officiating. Interment followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation was held Monday, from 9 a.m. until service time.
Services were under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
