Richard M. DeWitt, the son of Dennis M. DeWitt and Mary Woodring DeWitt, was born Aug. 29, 1963, in Hemet, Calif., and departed this life Jan. 15, 2005, at the age of 41.
Richard was a resident of Ava for the past year, moving from Gainesville. He was employed in construction before retirement due to a disability.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Dennis DeWitt.
He is survived by his mother, Mary DeWitt, Ava; a daughter, Dawn DeWitt, Gainesville; one grandson; one brother, Arthur DeWitt, Theodosia; and a sister, Christina Midcap, Las Vegas, Nev.; and a host of relatives and friends.
Cremation services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
