Mary Ella Dinwiddie, 62

Mary Ella (Garrison) Dinwiddie, 62, Springfield, passed away Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, in St. John’s Hospital following a long illness.

Mary was born Sept. 28, 1942, near Dogwood, to James Edward and Eva (Gifford) Garrison. She graduated from high school at School of the Ozarks, Point Lookout, Mo., in May 1960.

She was united in marriage to Leslie Dinwiddie on Aug. 5, 1962. Mary was a clerical worker, being employed much of her career at Maranatha Village. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Springfield.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Edward (Edd) Garrison.

Mary is survived by her mother, Eva Garrison; her loving and devoted husband, Les; four sons, Rex Dinwiddie, David Dinwiddie and his wife, Dhana, Hillsboro, Texas, Steve Dinwiddie and his wife, Michelle, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Scott Dinwiddie, Sparta; one daughter, Julie Hogue and her husband, Gene, Buffalo; six grandchildren, Luke, Shannon, Cody and Jules Dinwiddie, Jared and Colton Hogue; three sisters, Joyce Duke, Ozark, Janice Stewart and husband, Steve, Springfield, and Edna Lawson, Springfield; one brother, J.R. Garrison and his wife, Pam, Ava; and one special aunt, Clarice Williams, Springfield, who was raised in her home as a sister; and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.

Services were held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, in Greenlawn South Funeral Home, Springfield, with the Rev. Bud Everett officiating. Interment was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield.
