Darlene Sue “Susie” Canfield was born one of three children to Harry N. Anderson and Jan Boren (Johnson) in Rockford, Ill. on Jan. 26, 1943, and passed away at her home on June 13, 2004, at the age of 61. Susie worked in the banking and bookkeeping business in the Kan-sas City area until 1988 when she moved to Ava. Susie loved making floral displays and helped in a flo-ral shop in Ava after moving here. Susie also loved playing bingo, boating at the lake and her two dogs. She was a Christian.
Susie is survived by her beloved Eddie Scott; one daughter, Jennifer Madrid, Ava; her mother, Jan Boren, Springfield; two grandchil-dren, Justin Canfield, Ava; and Amber Canfield, also of Ava; one sister, Karen Stegwell, Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, Scott Wilson; and several friends and family.
Susie was preceded in death by her father.
A quiet memorial service was held with family on June 13, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home. Susie’s body was donated to the Gift of Body program at University of MO-School of Medicine in Co-lumbia, Mo. Memorials may be made to the Community Hospice of America, American Cancer Society or Humane Society. Services were conducted by Clinkingbeard Fu-neral Home, Ava.
